Last Sunday I took some time out with another fellow yogi Shelly and attended Wanderlust in the Domain at Sydney’s Royal Botanic Gardens.

With the beautiful blue skies and the sun shining, it was the perfect day for focusing on body, mind and soul. Wanderlust combined music, speakers, whole foods, coffee, coconut water (which I was in desperate need of as I sweated under the Sydney sun) and of course yoga. Everything from meditation and yin classes, to vinyasa and functional training was on offer.

Our day started with Eoin Finn’s Earth.Body.Yoga class, which definitely got the blood flowing, the mind focused and the muscles alive. Coffee in hand (skim latte of course!) we then listened to motivational speaker Deb Roach deliver her signature topic on Owning Life before making a garland with Summer Blooms and becoming a hippy for the day. With the sun shining we hit the main stage for a 45-minute functional work out with Libby and Jesse from Agoga, before slowing down with a flow release sequence with Flow Athletic’s Kate Kendall.

The Egg of the Universe (located in Rozelle) with their amazing whole foods refueled us for a much-needed yin session with Duncan Peak. The day wrapped up with vino for Shelly and a coconut water for me while listening to the DJ and pondering the things we are thankful for. I have so many things to be thankful for (just one being my husband Michael who brought my son Jack in so I could feed him between sessions), but as I sat there after an intense day, I couldn’t be more thankful for the massage I had booked in for that evening!
